Have You Ever Had Dessert with a Cop?
Since July was National Ice Cream Month three of our Caspers Company McDonald’s® hosted Dessert with a Cop on Tuesday, July 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 1905 N. Dale Mabry Highway at Spruce Street, 501 E. Martin Luther King Blvd at I-275, and 1908 E. Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa.
McDonald’s® of Tampa Bay hosted this event to show its appreciation to law enforcement and visit with the public out of the summer heat while enjoying a free sweet treat. Our Tampa area police officers were given a chance to try our new Premium Sundaes for free while customers were given a coupon for a free dessert on a future visit.
This event was similar to the McDonald’s® Coffee with a Cop event that we participated in a few months ago. The goal of this event is to break down barriers between law enforcement officers and the people they serve and protect. Dessert with a Cop allows people to ask questions, talk about their concerns, and get to know their neighborhood officers in a comfortable setting. Tampa Police Department Assistant Chief Marc Hamlin came to the event at our Spruce Street restaurant.
Vice President Bob Conigliaro said in a recent press release, “Taking time to meet at a neutral, safe location, like McDonald’s restaurants, provides the opportunity for real conversations about the issues that matter the most to residents.”
