2017 All American Awards Banquet at Lowry Park Zoo

Our All American stars came out to shine at Lowry Park Zoo for the All American Awards Banquet. We celebrated another outstanding year of competition and recognized the "Best of the Best"!

All American is a time-honored tradition that allows our top crew and managers to be recognized as being exceptional for what they do best every day. The competition takes place over four months beginning in April at the store level competition and ending with the supervisor's team judging at the end of June through the beginning of July. Our final judging narrowed the competition to our top 180 crew and top 20 managers in the company.

Each team was composed of: Team Service (2), Team Service Expediter, Drive Thru Order Taker (2), Drive Thru Runner, Drive Thru Presenter, Drive Thru Cash, Fries, Assembly (2), Initiator (2), Grilled Product, Buns, and Fried Product. Each team was led by a Shift Manager and a Production Manager.

The ten area supervisor teams competed at one of our two host restaurants. Vice President, Operations Manager Danielle Andrews’ supervisor teams competed at General Manager Jarrod Blakemore’s University location, and Vice President, Operations Manager Cedric Christopher’s supervisor teams competed at General Manager Yesy Cruz’s Spruce Street location.

Over a period of three weeks, ready to push their limits, each area supervisor’s team met the challenge anxiously performing to the best of their ability. After only a few practices together as a team, they took the floor during a busy lunch time in an unfamiliar store operating at high volume, and they performed at a high level for two and a half hours. All of the competitors’ hard work, dedication, pride, and determination were truly inspiring to everyone who was a part of the competition.

Returning judges this year were: Vice President, Training Manager Robbie Oberle; Vice President, Deployment Manager Scott Tuell; Vice President, Operations Manager Cedric Christopher; and Vice President, Operations Manager Danielle Andrews. Joining the judging team this year were Human Resources Manager Zakee Bailey and Marketing Coordinator Amanda DuBose.

After ten impressive days of judging, all the teams came together at the Lowry Park Zoo Safari Lodge to celebrate this year’s competition at the All American Awards Banquet on July 25. Guests explored the animals in "Africa," fed the giraffes, and learned about wild cats, a sloth, anteater, and iguana in personal encounters with the zoo keepers. Everyone enjoyed a buffet meal with fajitas, chicken wings, BBQ pulled pork with delicious sides, and an ice cream bar and cookies for dessert.

President Rudy Garcia kicked off the awards and spoke to the crowd about the value of the All American program, the opportunities for advancement in our company, and he recognized the many general managers who had competed as crew and assistants in the All American Competition. Vice President, Community Relations Bob Conigliaro spoke regarding the value of the All American experience and the impact on their lives. Blake Casper talked to everyone about the importance of the All American program to our culture and to our success. He talked about the benefits of hard work and opportunity and thanked the group for their dedication and commitment.
Vice Presidents, Operation Managers Danielle Andrews and Cedric Christopher did an outstanding job of announcing the winners and honoring their achievements.
